Shrewsbury Chef wins Healthy Cuisine Award!

The annual Shropshire Care Awards awarded chef Jim Davies from Bowbrook House in Shrewsbury the Healthy Cuisine Award. BBC Radio Shropshire DJ Eric
Smith presented the glittering awards ceremony at The International Centre, attended by 250 guests with Christine Hamilton as the after dinner speaker.

The awards ceremony organised by Shropshire Partners in Care recognises the hard work success and outstanding achievement care staff, nurses and care
managers working within the independent care community in Shropshire.

Jim Davies (25) originally from Bourneville, Birmingham who now lives in Bicton Heath said, “I didn’t think I had much chance to be honest the standards were so high, I’m completely overwhelmed! I would just like to say a huge thank you to my bosses Jennifer and David English at Bowbrook House who believed in me and have been fully supportive from day one.”

Jennifer English owner of Bowbrook Residential Home said, “Jim always uses locally
sourced produce with 90% of salad items being grown on the home’s vegetable
patch. He is extremely creative and always asks our service users for ideas and
makes sure they have their favorite dishes.”
