Top award for learning disabilities Carer
Carol Cooper from Adelphi Care Services in Wem has won the Learning Disabilities
Carer of the Year Award at the annual Shropshire Care Awards.
Over 250 guests
attended the glittering awards ceremony at The International Centre hosted by
BBC radio Shropshire presenter Eric Smith with guest speaker Christine Hamilton.
Manager Mrs Debra Fritzi who nominated Carol said, “Carol is a dedicated
member of staff and a valued member of our team. She works hard to meet the
demands of working with young people who have learning difficulties and is
always sensitive towards the residents approaching any situation calmly.”
The awards ceremony organised by Shropshire Partners in Care recognises the
hard work success and outstanding achievement of care staff, nurses and care
managers working within the independent care community in Shropshire.
Carol who lives in Whitchurch said,” I’m just ecstatic, I was just proud that someone
wanted to nominate me I never thought I could win! I have always had 100%
support from Adelphi Care so this award goes to everyone who works there as
well.”
Carol a qualified senior support worker, has worked for Adelphi Care Services for
just two and half years. She concluded, “Just the acknowledgment is fantastic
and is a huge morale booster for everyone involved in the local care sector, I urge
all care companies to get involved and be a part of the next awards together.”
Executive Director Des Kelly OBE from the National Care Forum said, “The awards
ceremony has been extremely well attended which just confirms the support that
the care community has in Shropshire, I’m extremely honored to have been part
of this evening.”
