Care Business of the Year
2008
Coverage Care based in Shrewsbury has been awarded the prestigious Care
Business of the Year at the annual Shropshire Care Awards. The event was hosted
by BBC Radio Shropshire’s Eric Smith at The International Centre, with special guest
and after dinner speaker Christine Hamilton.
250 guests from over 16 residential care homes, domiciliary agencies and day
centers from the county supported the second Care Awards ceremony organised
by Shropshire Partners in Care (SPIC).
Chief Executive of Coverage Care, David Coull said, “We are delighted to be
awarded Care Business of Year. We are a not- for profit company and are proud
of the high standards of care we provide. Our success is due to our staff who have
made winning this award possible.”
The awards acknowledge the hard work, success and outstanding achievement
of care staff, nurses and care managers working within the independent care
community in the county.
The Care Business of the Year award was judged by a panel of independent
judges and measured by clear business objectives, evidence of continuous
improvement including the training of staff, inspection reports and customer
satisfaction reviews.
Sponsor Lloyd Jones from the Royal Bank of Scotland who presented Coverage
Care with the award said, “Shropshire should be proud of the excellent standards
of care they provide for local people. By rewarding and encouraging care
companies and staff it really does boost morale. Congratulations to Coverage
Care for their outstanding achievements.”
Coverage Care operates from 14-care centers in Shropshire employing over 650
staff on a not-for profit basis. The services they provide support older people with
different requirements and have a special interest in helping residents with more
complex needs, including dementia, physical disabilities, sensory difficulties and
learning disabilities.
