Rewarding Telford carer Michaela Stevens
Over 250 guests joined presenter Eric Smith from BBC Radio Shropshire and special
guest Christine Hamilton in celebrating the second annual care awards organised
by Shropshire Partners in Care. Michaela Stevens from Barclay Gardens
Domiciliary Care Agency, Telford, Donnington was awarded the domiciliary carer
of the year.
Manager Amy Hutchings who nominated Michaela said, “Michaela is an
ambassador for all care workers and sets a very high standard in everything she
does. It’s the small gestures, warm smile and calming presence that make’s a
difference to all our clients and this award is confirmation of her dedication her job
as a professional carer.”
The Shropshire Care Awards celebrate and reward the hard work success and
outstanding achievement of the 10,000 care staff, nurses and care managers
working within the independent care community in Shropshire.
Michaela (45) who lives on Park Road, Donnington, has worked for Coverage
Care for 2 years. She is a qualified carer and has achieved her NVQ level 2 in
health and social care.
Michaela said “This has all been so unexpected, I just treat all our service users with
the dignity they deserve. Everyone I work with at Barclay Gardens deserves to be
recognised as we all work as a team and always help each other in offering
quality care.”

recognizing people who provide care, it’s great to be able to acknowledge their
constant hard work and the quality of care they provide.”
